To celebrate the Orange Elks winning the All-American Lodge Contest for the tenth time in the last twelve years, the lodge planned a celebration dinner.
Flags over Orange was created by the Orange Elks to provide a flag for a Military, Police, Fire, Veteran, Seniors, or Disabled person that would love a flag flying, but could use a helping hand mounting one. The Orange Elks will install a flag kit that consists of flag and pole, and solar light to keep the flag properly displayed and illuminated overnight.
The Orange Elks support our Community Partner, the Orange Police Department (OPD).
Since 2006, Police Dog Chairmen Elisabeth Carr and Mike Duff
have raised over $84,000 to help the Orange Police Department purchase and train police dogs. This is the seventh police dog the lodge has helped OPD purchase.
The Orange Elks billiards group plays pool and supports our lodge events, and volunteer programs.
Committee Chairman Mike Morales organizes three tournaments a month and once a year hosts an Annual Charity Pool Tournament.
Once a month, members of the Orange Elks join our Community Partner, the Santiago Creek Greenway Alliance (SCGA) to help clean up the Santiago Creek.
A few weeks ago, a call came in from Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County with an unexpected need. As the organization prepared for its annual all-staff appreciation lunch, a routine equipment check revealed that its barbecue grill had reached the end of its life and was no longer safe to use.
Members of the Orange Elks Lodge talk about many things. But one of the usual topics is home grown tomatoes. Member Linda Corcoran had an idea. Let’s have a contest to determine the best home-grown tomato.
The Orange Elks supported our Community Partner; the HUB OC. The HUB OC is a local nonprofit resource center serving the unhoused and individuals experiencing hardship. This month the Lodge is collecting men’s and women’s body spray to donate to The Marketplace at The Hub.
The Orange Elks celebrate National Youth Week with our annual Youth Appreciation Night program.
The lodge held a Kentucky Derby Party for Orange City Fire Peer Support.
