Flags over Orange and Flags Over the Plaza

Flags over Orange was created by the Orange Elks to provide a flag for a Military, Police, Fire, Veteran, Seniors, or Disabled person that would love a flag flying, but could use a helping hand mounting one. The Orange Elks will install a flag kit that consists of flag and pole, and solar light to keep the flag properly displayed and illuminated overnight.

J C Cortez and the Orange Elks Flags Over Orange committee will install the flags.
J C while shopping ran into Bill Talbert wearing a US Air Force ball cap.
They started talking and J C learned about Bill military service.
Bill’s specialty was to inspect, maintain, repair, and overhaul aircraft propeller systems.

Bill, enjoy your flag, compliments of the Orange Elks Lodge and Home Depot!

If it is the third Thursday of the month, the Orange Elks will be raising and lowering a Flag in the Plaza.

This is an event the Orange Elks do for the community to support and thank our Veterans for their service to our country.
This month we raised the flag to celebrate the U.S. Coast Guard’s 236th birthday, August 4. The evening ceremony began with the Pledge of Allegiance, the program included how the Coast Guard is dedicated to safeguarding U.S. waterways, enforcing maritime law, and performing search and rescue missions. The folding of the flag and the signing of our National Anthem ended ceremony.
