This month the Flags Over the Plaza celebrated the US Army’s 251st birthday.
The program began with Guy Erskine’s granddaughter Olivia Erskine leading the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by Miss City of Orange Kalista Brown’s singing the National Anthem.
A veteran from the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) talked about the D A V and their programs. Orange Elks member Diana Trujillo shared some insight on Women Veterans Appreciation Day which was celebrated on June 12, The ceremony ended with the folding of the American flag. The Assistance League of Orange provided an Army cake and soft drinks. The Orange Elks served the guests.
