This was a very special Valentines Day for several members of the Orange Elks. It did not involve candy, flower, jewelry or a romantic dinner with that special person.  It did involve serving lunches to some very special people.  On this Valentines Day, nineteen members of the Orange Elks went to Camp Pendleton where they serve lunch to over 300 Wounded Warriors and their families.

These are service people who incurred a service injury or illness on or after 9/11. Our Elks who support our Veterans programs have played Bingo with the Veterans at the Long Beach Veterans Hospital, served lunches to our blind veterans at Long Beach, support the Broadway and Manor Houses in Santa Ana, given scholarships to our local veterans from Orange, support Patriots and Paws and helping at three Stand Downs. Today,we all agreed that of the many things we have done with the Elks over the years, this was by far the most rewarding.
