“As long as there is a Veteran, the Orange Elks will never forget”! ENF Chairperson Bob Hanna submitted to Grand Lodge the request that Orange Lodge apply for a Freedom Grant to assist Vets First and the Manor House ( A Transition Home for Veterans) in Santa Ana. The Manor House is managed by Vets First primarily for Homeless Disabled Male Veterans. For some a pause in life...but for many their last stop before being hospitalized. They must be drug and alcohol free.
Thanks to Barbara for the pictures!
In March bids were submitted and the job of refurbishing the upstairs, the banister/stairs and handicapped ramp for the Manor House. By April 1st, the project was completed on time and on budget with the final walkthrough and sign off on the project completed.
Orange Veterans Chairpersons Brian and Stephanie Fitzpatrick asked Frank Sellers to Chair this project and to make sure that the $2,000 grant was used wisely and that the project would be completed in a timely fashion. The Orange Lodge added $350 to help complete the ramp. “Thank you for serving our country and for defending our lives, liberties and freedom. We are truly grateful for you".
