Every one knows about acronyms. Well in the Elks, BPOE is Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and ENF is Elks National Foundation. Well members of the Orange Elks were the BPOE (Best People on Earth) and had an ENF (Extra Nice Feeling) when they went to the Long Beach Veterans Hospital and served lunch to blind and vision impaired veterans. The Blind Rehab Center contacted Frank Sellers, Orange Coast District Veterans Chairman and asked if Frank knew of any organization that would be willing to put on a luncheon for 60-80 Blind and Visually Impaired Veterans from West LA as part of an open house for the new Blind Rehab Center at Long Beach VAMC.
Frank is a member of the Orange Lodge which has very active Veterans Committee contacted Stephanie and Brian Fitzpatrick, Orange Lodge Veterans Committee Chairman, to coordinated with to put on the lunch. Thirteen members from the lodge showed up at Long Beach and served lunch. The lunch included hot dogs, hamburgers, fried chicken, cole slaw, potato salad, chips drinks and ice cream for dessert.
