The Orange Elks are active in supporting our Veterans, Active Duty members, and Reservists. In the past we have cooked and served meals at Camp Pendleton, the Fisher House in Long Beach and Los Alamitos Joint Forces Training Base, played bingo with our Veterans at the Long Beach Veterans Hospital, participated every Wednesday with Veterans at the Flag lowering in the Circle of the Orange Plaza, and rode motorcycles in the Injured Warriors Appreciation Run. Because of the coronavirus our activities have been limited. But our Lodges Veterans Committee was able to make two $1,000 donations. The lodge made a donation to Dogs on Deployment. Their mission is to help change the lives of our military members and their pets by helping to provide assistance while the individual serves our country. When the military pet owners is deployed, Dogs on Deployment will help them with their pets care through free pet boarding and or financial grants. Patriots and Paws also received a $1,000. Patriots and Paws helps our local heroes so they won’t be sleeping on floors, going without blankets, kitchen supplies, bathroom supplies or occupying an empty apartment without essential home items. This helps our Veterans, Active Duty, and Reservists can get the critical household items they need to take care of their wellbeing. The Orange Elks strive to provide services to the men and women who serve our country defending our freedom in their time of need.
