Memorial Day is a very special day for the Orange Elks Lodge. It is a time we come to honor those men and women who have fought for us and those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

On Saturday members of the community placed flags on all the gravesites of the veterans. CMDR Scott McKee, CMDR. of the American Legion Post 131 and an Orange Elks member gave instructions of the proper placement of the flags on the graves. State Senator Janet Nguyen thanked the people for taking their time to place the flags.

On Monday “Lest we Forget” featured The 150th Anniversary of the Founding of the “Grand Army of the Republic” and the 50th Anniversary of the end of the “Vietnam Conflict”. Our two keynote speakers remarks were dedicated to those past events. A poem, “In Flanders Field” and the “Gettysburg Address” were read. Pictured is a tribute to the fallen from the different conflicts.
