“As long as there is a Vet, the Elks will never forget" and that is a strong belief of the Orange Elks. Recently, the Orange Lodge helped two organizations that support veterans. In both cases, these groups help homeless veterans. They were Home Aid Essentials and Family Promise. . Close to $1,500 was donated to these groups.
HomeAid Essentials is an organization that helps collect for the needs for homeless infants and toddlers. The Orange Elks set out boxes to collect items that homeless people need that include diapers, baby food, wipes and other hygiene products
The mission of Family Promise of Orange County is to help homeless families achieve housing stability by providing short term shelter, meals, case-management and hospitality.
Family Promise is a transitional shelter and believes that every family deserves a chance to return to independence, and that their children should not have to sleep on the street or in a car, no matter their family's circumstance.
The lodge set up a box to collect cleaning supplies. In addition, the lodge donated $250. Â
Casey Crosbie, Executive Director of Family Promise and an Orange Elks member stopped by the lodge to thank the lodge for supporting them.
