The Trustees of the Orange Elks Lodge # 1475 select charities in Orange County to help with donations. This year was no exception. The following groups received help:

The Amrican Cancer Relay for Life $250, Boys State (Send underprivileged yet smart children to Sacramento for a week to learn about state government) $250, Mary’s Kitchen feeds and assists the local homeless.  $500, Beverly House Fund (Center. Against Domestic Violence) $500, Casa Teresa Home (temporary home for single, pregnant women 18 years of age and older $500, CHEA State Golf $25, Dillon Maseri Eagle Scout Project $150, Discovery Arts (Bringing the arts to children with cancer and serious blood disorders) $500, El Modena High School Cheer Leaders $200, House of Hope Rescue Mission (for homeless or poverty-stricken women with children) $500, Miss Orange scholarship fund $250, Orange Senior Center Golf Tournament $150, Pet Oxygen Mask to the Orange Fire Department $75, North Sunrise Little League $300,
O C Clear Women’s Softball team $80, Threads of Love meets the needs of premature babies, supplying burial gowns for stillborn babies,  Lovie dolls used for scent bonding, isolette covers etc. $250, the Orange Lodge Essay Winners received $700 in U.S Savings Bonds on “ Why I am proud to be an American”, four high school seniors received $3500 in Scholarship Awards for their college careers and The Joplin Lodge # 501 was leveled and four people lost their lives there $500.
