On June 16th, 2010,  the Orange Elks Lodge, No. 1475 held its Flag Day Celebration and Ceremony! This ceremony is an Elks Tradition where Patriotism has characterized the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America since the early days of the organization.

Today, American Armed Forces carry our flag in the villages of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan.  Today, we see the Star Spangled Banner wherever we turn, on homes, businesses, automobiles and billboards. Such displays stimulate our love for our nation and for what it stands; they remind us of the sacrifices being made by the men and women of our Armed Forces around the world.

This year the Lodges Veterans Committee  headed by Brian and Stephanie Fitzpatrick handed out the first annual "Orange Hero's Scholarships" presenting five $500.00 scholarships to five local veterans who have returned from Iraq/ Afghanistan.

The Boy Scout and Cub Scout Troop of the Orange Lodges presented the Flags of the United States in a “History of the Flag”.

Additionally, the Orange Emblem Club presented a moving “Flag Folding”. This ceremony not only described but showed the meaning and purpose behind every fold made when presenting the flag of our country.
