The Orange Elks have many programs that serve our young people, our community, and our veterans. Today it was a program to serve our young people.
Soccer is one of the fastest growing youth activities in the United States.

The Orange Elks First Soccer Shoot was a huge success. Our soccer chairmen Steve Baez did a great job organizing the event. All the kids and volunteers had a great time!

Our lodge members secured donations from Big 5 Sporting Goods, Angels Baseball, Concourse Bowling Center, Sunny Smith Boardshop, OC Sports Equipment, Yogurt land, The Habit, Chili's Gift Card, 1886 Brewing Company, South Coast Plaza Gift Cards, and Orange County Children?s Dentistry. Each soccer player left with a gift.
Getting the word out to the city?s soccer player was easy. Local soccer clubs, kids from the GRIP program, our friends, neighbors, and relatives attended.

The Elks Soccer Shoot is for boys and girls U-8, U-10, U-12 & U-14. There are two different contests that test their skills. Each age group has a different size goal to shoot at to gain points. The U-8 shoot from 15 feet at goals ranging in size from 48 inches to 17 inches. The U-10, U-12 & U-14 group scores points by kicking the ball into certain sections of the goal.

At the end of the day, planning for next years soccer shoot was underway.
It was a Great Day to be an Orange Elk!!!!!!
