This year the Orange Elks have cancelled two of our favorite events. The first was the DSAofOC (Down Syndrome Association of Orange County) Family Picnic and the second was the Eli Home Thanksgiving Celebration. The Eli Home is a shelter for Abused Children. Because of the Coronavirus, fundraising for nonprofits has been exceedingly difficult. The Grand Lodge through the Elks Community Investments Program offer grants. The Orange Lodge applied for and received the Beacon Grant in the amount of $3,500. Our lodge presented checks to DSAofOC and The Eli Home in the amount of $1,750. The Orange Elks Lodge continues to support to the DSAofOC and The Eli Home. This year we will miss seeing the smiles of their faces at the DSAofOC Picnic and Eli Home Thanksgiving Celebration but knowing that we are helping in some ways makes this is a great day in Elkdom at the Orange Lodge!
