The Orange Elks Third Grade Dictionary Program is designed to place a personal dictionary in the hands of every third grader in Orange Unified School District. The dictionary becomes the students very own, to carry with him or her, as they advance through their school years. A young student from Handy Elementary is holding her own dictionary.

Our lodge Dictionary Project Chairman Al Montano said the budget of the project is around $8,000. The  majority of the funds used to purchase the dictionaries for this project are from the Elks National Foundation as a result of the $2,000 Gratitude Grant. In thirteen years we have delivered over twenty eight thousand dictionaries to the third graders in the city of Orange.

Our Drug Awareness Education Program developed and inserted in each dictionary a Drug Awareness book mark.

This year we delivered over two thousand two hundred dictionaries to twenty seven schools and seventy six classrooms. The Hotel Kids were also included.
