It is wonderful to see how members of various lodges can work together to accomplish great things. In the Orange Coast District, we are so fortunate to have members who enjoy working together, and it was exemplified on December 10, 2011 at Orange Lodge. A dinner was prepared in honor of Art and Shirley Echternacht as a fundraiser for their upcoming year as State President and First Lady of the California Hawaii Elks Association.
I extend my gratitude to the many members of Orange Lodge First Lady Amanda Smith, PER JackieLynn DeFries, Dean Smith, Jim Swindell, Dick Hayes, Steve Hayes, Â Tom Ruff, Tom and Joann Caldara, and Amy Genelle; to Jim Vecchio, Jim Rutherford and Kathy Fajardo of La Habra Lodge, to Esquire to the DDGER Harvey and Betty Boelts of Mission Viejo/Saddleback Valley Lodge, to Todd Parris of Westminster Lodge, to Scout Master Scott G and troop #1475, and to friends of our Elks lodge my wife, Janice Genelle; Dalton Saunders, son of Trevor Saunders, my grandson Jake and his friend Caleb who were on the serving line as well as clean-up crew, and to Dan Lynd who volunteered to wash the mounds of dishes and pots (with help from Dean).
Our fundraiser was a success thanks to the many hands that helped!
Bob Genelle, PDDGER, Lodge Advisor and Fundraiser Chairman
