Congratulations to James Lin, 8th grader from El Rancho Charter Middle School, for writing an essay that garnered him Second Place for his age group at the State level of our Drug Awareness Essay Contest!
James' essay was one of two submitted to the Orange Coast District level, and from there it went on to the California/Hawaii Elks state level. Had his essay won first prize, it would have gone on to the National level.
James and his family will receive his award on the floor of the Lodge right before the beginning of one of our next meetings.
Once again, congratulations to James!

On Wednesday, March 3, Orange Lodge #1475 had the distinct pleasure to honor one of our Drug Awareness Essay Contest winners, James Lin.
James was one of the two winners of the Essay Contest whose essay was passed on to the Orange Coast District Essay Contest level. From there, his essay advanced to the California/Hawaii Elks State Essay Contest level. Here, James took Second Place in his age group. For his effort, James was awarded a check for $400.00.
