Memorial Day is an incredibly special day for the Orange Elks Lodge. It is a time we come to honor those men and women who have fought for us and those who paid the ultimate price for our freedom.

Just in case you forget what Memorial Day means! There is nothing “happy” about it so please think twice before you say, “Happy Memorial Day”. Someone is missing their son, daughter, mother, father, sister, or brother! Lodge members placed flags for this special day. Many coins were seen on the grave markers, and they have a special meaning.

Because of the pandemic guidelines, the Tri-City Memorial Day Observance at the Santa Ana Cemetery was cancelled. The observance each year has a theme for the ceremony. It usually starts with the pledge of Allegiance, the Orange H S Chambers Singers singing the National and patriotic songs, a cannon salute by the Cooper’s Battery & the Richmond Howitzers to honor to our Fallen, our POW’s and our MIA’s and a World War II plane flyover. Twenty-one members from the Orange Elks lodge presented a floral arrangement.
