Each year the Orange Elks hold a Flag Day Ceremony. In 1907 the Elks Grand Lodge designated June 14 as Flag Day and the Elks were the first fraternal organization to observe Flag Day. The Orange Elks were chartered in 1923 and have had a Flag Day Celebration program each year.

Our Americanism Chairman, Chris Michaelis introduced the Flag Day Chairman Don Westerfield for a fun filled evening that was enthusiastic, patriotic, foot stomping and lots of singing to highlight the evening.

The El Modena High School Choir under the direction of Tracy Solis sang the National Anthem and You’re a Grand Ole Flag.

One of the videos played was “Ragged Old Flag” by Johnny Cash, an emotional video “Reveille Patriotic American Veteran Tribute” brought a tear to many eyes and it ended with flag waving and signing to Lee Greenwoods “God Bless the USA”.
