The Orange Elks Lodge # 1475 donates each year to Mary’s Kitchen to purchase dry goods and canned goods. Mary’s Kitchen feeds and assists the local homeless and those in need.
Every July the Lodge donates turkeys and our members cook them for Mary’s Kitchen. The dinners come with all the trimmings and last year we were able to feed over 200 people
Each December members of our Lodge also cook a holiday dinner with all the trimmings.
According to Orange Elks member and Mary’s Kitchen volunteer Sue Siegel, in the last year Mary’s Kitchen has seen a 400 % increase in meals served.
Sue Siegel is a 7 year member of the Orange Elks ad is on the Board of Directors of Mary's Kitchen. She has been a volunteer at Mary’s Kitchen for 25 years. Sue was responsible for getting the Orange Lodge and Mary’s Kitchen working together.
“Elks Care and Elks Share” and Sue was recognized as The Orange Elks Citizen of the Year.
