Each year the Orange Elks honor our Law Enforcement and Firefighters at our Appreciation Night which is a dinner and awards ceremony.

This event shows our appreciation to those HEROS who risk their lives every day protecting the city of Orange and making Orange a better and safer place to live. These are men and women who run toward danger to protect us.
The Co-Chairs. of the event Jennifer Weerheim and Janine Storm welcomed everyone to the program. Miss Orange Elizabeth Raburn helped present the awards.

Orange Elks member Clarke Balvanz started a new program to help the Orange City Fire Department acquire therapy dogs. Clarke introduced Ember who will help the men and women that go out on traumatic calls deal with the stress of the job and may also be used on calls where residents could use a little puppy love.

Orange Fire Department (OFD) Chief Sean deMetropolis presented the fire department?s awards to Javier Soto, Fire Cadet of the Year, Mohamad Hijazi, Fire Reserve of the Year and Alan Velasco, Manager of the Year.
Orange Police Department (OPD) Chief Dan Adams presented awards to Officer Yash Patel, Officer Tyler Venturelli and Detective Conner Jones.
Our Drug Awareness Chairmen Mike Cash introduced our entries for consideration for the Enrique Camarena Award. This award will be presented at the Elks Grand Lodge Convention in July. Enrique S. "Kiki" Camarena was an 11-year DEA agent who was kidnapped, brutally tortured, and then murdered in Mexico in 1985. It is given to a law enforcement officer who has made a significant contribution in drug prevention and who personify Enriques belief that one person can make a difference.
This year, Orange County Sheriff (OCS) deputy Jacob Bieker, CHP K 9 Officer Elias Granado, Orange County Sheriff Brian Gunsolley, and Orange County District Attorney (OCDA) Investigator Jose Flores were selected to be considered for the Enrique Camarena Award.
