The pandemic might have slowed down our country, but it has not slowed down the Orange Elks. In the last five months our lodge members have shopped and their neighbors by purchasing and delivering food and medical supplies. They have driven friends to various appointments. We have helped deliver boxes of food to families at the Sky View School, helped at the Youth Centers of Orange to pass out food and volunteered at several food distribution spots in our city. We helped set up plans to work with several of our partners in the city on what their needs were and obtained a list of local business’s we can support. We published charts of grocery stores and store hours. Our Trustees have made monetary donations to food banks in our city. The lodge also donated food we had purchased for upcoming lodge events to our local food banks. The lodge received two grants from The Grand Lodge. The first one, the Gratitude Grant ($2500 ) was given to Waste Not OC (WNOC) to help feed the hopeless and at-risk families locally and the Spotlight Grant ($2,000 ) was given to the Orange Unified School District (OUSD) Student Services for COVID Relief for at-risk and in-need families. After completing each of these projects the most common comment was “How helping sure made you feel good!â€
