Each May the Orange Elks honors the youth of our community by showcasing the many programs the Lodge has for our young people and giving a preview of the new ones coming up. This year was no different. All our guests were treated to a dinner of Baked Ziti, Salad Bar and Dessert.

Elroy T. “Orange” Elk (the face of our Orange Lodge and our mascot for all our youth activities) and Miss Orange, Nicole Renard, helped present the awards.

Under our Loyal Knight Stephanie Logan, one of her duties is Youth Activities. Stephanie mentioned that this month one of our new programs is The Reading Promise and in August will be the National Night Out.

There are so many things for which we recognize our youth including scouting, scholarship and athletics.

Our scout troop # 1475 has produced eleven Eagle Scouts since 2006.

Hoop Shoot Chairman, Brenda Nailon, presented the Boys and Girls Hoop Shoot winners. The winners received a trophy. A Sportsmanship Award and gift card was presented to Lindsey Hammond. Summer Tenpas won the District and finished fifth in the State Competition.
