Will Hare, Orange Elks member, Committee Chairman and an Eagle Scout presided over the Eagle Scout Court of Honor for Aaron Anderson. Aaron is the fourteenth  Eagle Scout from our  Lodges Boy Scout Troop 1475 since 2006.
The Eagle Scout Court of Honor is the highest honor the Boy Scouts of America offers. He is attending the Orange County School of the Arts. The Air Force is in his future and sixty four percent of the graduating class at the Air Force Academy are Eagle Scouts.
Aaron received many congratulation letters from people and companies all over the United States, a U S flag flown over the capital and a certificates from the Orange Lodge and the Grand Lodge.
Aaron’s positions in the troop included Scribe, Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader (Panther Patrol), Assistant Senior Patrol Leader, Senior Patrol Leader, Junior Assistant Scoutmaster and Order of the Arrow Member.
His most notable accomplishment was achieving fifty two Merit Badges. The summer camp out at Lost Valley was his favorite where he and members of the troop designed, built and won the “cardboard boat” race.
For his Eagle Project, he chose to create and build  a “Rock Walk” at the El Modena High School Nature / Plant Garden Center that would help fourth and fifth graders study rocks and the rock cycle. This was a very labor intensive project that included 7000 lbs. of rock.
Behind this very successful Eagle Scout was his mother Elizabeth.
Aaron is an impressive fourteen year old and has set his site on two of Boy Scouts highest Awards. The first is the William T. Hornaday Award that recognizes Scouts who undertook and completed a truly exceptional conservation projects. The other award is the God and Country Award that encourage the individual to grow stronger in their faith.
