Being asked back every year for the last five years (2020 was an exception) is an honor the Orange Elks take pride in. Fifteen members from Orange drove down to Camp Pendleton to help prepare and serve a yummy BBQ lunch for 1200 Marines and their families at Camp Pendleton’s Lake O’Neill for the 7th Engineer Support Battalion (7th ESB). The 7th ESB provides general engineering support of an expeditionary nature to the Marine Expeditionary Force. Three BBQ teams, Pete’s Firehouse BBQ, When Pigs Fly BBQ & Mar-be-que BBQ started BBQing the day before. The Elks served Pulled Pork, Brisket, Chicken, Baked Beans, Corn, Cole Slaw, Potato Salad, Watermelon, Chips and Drinks. LtCol. Melina Mesta stopped by and thanked the group for a job well done! It was a great day serving our military and their families! “As long as there is a Vet, the Orange Elks will never forget”!
